Commercial oven delivery by courier service

Yesterday I wrote about moving double ovens by courier service and what type of courier service works best and why.

Today I am going to expand on the oven theme a bit more, and write about delivering commercial ovens, these include pizza ovens. Pizza oven delivery

Like moving the double ovens, moving catering sized ovens is always going to need a few people to load and unload the ovens, simply because of the size and the weight. Sometimes these are dismantled and you may be able to use two people for the loading and unloading.

If they are not dismantled, you need to start with the weight – how much does the oven weigh, what are the dimensions and then match it to a vehicle. A small pizza oven will sit comfortably in a transit van, a larger one may have to be dismantled or be booked onto a larger vehicle.

If you dismantle the oven for delivery, you need to make sure you tape down the loose parts and any nuts and bolts are kept together and handed to the driver, or taped to the interior wall of the oven itself to prevent loss. If your courier service loads items then this may be a more secure option that prevents your nuts and bolts from getting mixed up.

Delivering your commercial oven is usually the easy part, like delivering the double ovens the more difficult part is the safe unloading and that is where a tail lift vehicle is always beneficial. A tail lift isn’t essential, without that you need two or three people at the end destination to help the driver unload. The end location into commercial premises or storage isn’t usually a problem as they are designed to have larger kitchen items in them.

If you are moving an entire commercial kitchen, including the fridges, dishwashers and work surfaces you may find weight wise it’s easier to use a fleet of transits rather than several 7.5 tonne sized upwards vehicles. But I shall write about that tomorrow.
