How to send a bicycle by parcel courier

by Sarah Arrow on April 2, 2008

This is the first in our series of blogs on how to pack awkward items for safe delivery by couriers. In this instance via parcel couriers.

Essex couriers delivering a bicycle

If the bike is already assembled, remove pedals and handle bars. Wrap the paintwork with bubble wrap. Wrap the pedals and handle bars with bubble wrap and attach them with tape to the frame.

If you have a box to hand, great place the bike in the box and secure it, its ready for transportation.

If you don’t have a box, then wrap in recycled brown paper, and tape securely with duct tape.

You can mark the paper with Fragile, so the parcel carriers are aware its fragile.
