Sometimes it’s not the value of the item that needs a package or parcel to be collected and delivered urgently, sometimes it’s the data it contains and the inconvenience of not having it that means an urgent courier service is required.

One example of this would be Laptops, couriers often collect these from offices and send them to the home location of a remote worker. For some companies their policies state their work is undertaken on their office laptops and not personal laptops.
If you
- are having someone caretaking your business
- are needing it for an urgent presentation (usually equipment failure)
- needing to data exchange (massive file transference)
- left items – usually a hotel room
the a quick call to your local courier service will facilitate fast collection and delivery of your laptop and onto your end destination.
A dedicated courier is usually what is used in these instances unless time is not of the essence, in which case a parcel courier usually will do the job quite adequately.
Other instances where a same day courier is used is when the laptop or computer equipment is high value and the parcel courier does not have enough insurance to cover the cost of replacing the item if lost (often the data is not insured, only the actual laptop). Couriers will have a significantly higher rate of insurance and same day couriers will collect and deliver directly, so there is less risk of damage or loss.
So next time you are stranded and needing a laptop to be couriered, or have left your laptop behind at a hotel, give your local courier a call rather than posting it, less likelihood of a loss and you don’t lose a day driving backwards and forwards to get a vital piece of work kit.
