You may recall a week or so ago I was lucky enough to deliver my wife to a group of Thurrock based businesses where she spoke about twitter, and how we use it in our business.
She got talking to Richard, from the University of East London / Knowledge Thurrock Innovation Associates and it transpires that he has a similar job to what launched Sarah on her very successful recruitment career.
Sarah used to help those that were deemed technically harder to help and she started off finding work experience for people that society had written off and those that lived on the fringe. I think the amount of knock backs she received doing that job makes her the determined person she is today.
Richard does something similar but with graduate students. The students are nearing the end of their academic study and to complete it fully they need a work placement, in particular they need a project they can manage and implement – test the depth of their knowledge. The student placement is partially funded, so the business only has to pay a nominal fee.
- Co Ordinate social media campaigns
- Marketing projects
- Research projects
This is where my wife comes into her own, out comes the trusty Flip and poor Richard is ambushed into a video talking about his Student Business Placements. His contact details are at the end of the video – so get in touch.
I need to attach a Government warning on Sarah though, am thinking of WARNING – EQUIPPED WITH FLIP, what do you think?
Kevin
~PS Sarah, next time there’s drilling, stop filming please!
