I have just received this by email, and thought I would share it, it may be something you will find useful if you employ or use drivers aged 18-25.

Essex County Council is committed to helping businesses to manage the risks to their employees whilst travelling on company business.

Driving is the most dangerous activity that most people do in their daily role.

One third of all accidents involve a person who is driving for work, inexperience, distractions and careless driving are all common factors.

Employers have clear duties under health and safety laws to look after their employees; this includes any time spent travelling on company business.

The workshop will commence at 9.30am and close at 4.00pm with lunch and refreshments provided.

This unique workshop is completely FREE to attend but places are limited.

(However, we do ask for £25 deposit which is refundable on attendance)

The theory session (3 hours) will cover topics such as;

• National and local statistics

• Hazard perception and distractions

• Emotions, beliefs and attitudes

• Factors contributing to accidents

• Company responsibility, policies and guidelines

• Journey planning, accidents & breakdowns

The practical session (3 hours) will cover;

• Vehicle checks

• On the road practical driving/riding

• Tips to be a “better business” driver/rider

Each delegate will receive feedback from their afternoon assessment and a certificate to show continuous personal development (CPD).

Please contact me if you have any employees that would benefit from this workshop
