What to do if the Easter Bunny doesn’t deliver

Easter Bunnies are temperamental bunnies. They have the second most important delivery job. They know Santa has the most important delivery job but he has reindeer to help him and elves, so the Easter bunny can get a little grouchy when it comes to delivery.

Preparing the garden for your Easter egg delivery.

The Easter Bunny prefers a nice neat garden, make sure you have removed any stinging nettles so the bunny can just bounce straight up to the house. Make sure you keep your cats well fed, and your dogs in the lounge. Although the Easter bunny is bigger than your cat or dog it will be nervous around them and you don’t want their little tail twitching and breaking a chair or a sofa.

He loves Daffodils, snowdrops and crocuses so if your garden is in bloom you may see him making his deliveries – he’ll stop to smell the flowers. This gives you time to move the cat and the dog.

Sometimes the Easter bunny will be playful and deliver the eggs to the garden and you’ll have to hunt around looking for them. Trees, sheds, patios and barbeques are popular places. I’d check the barbeques first if I was you, you don’t want the eggs to melt.

Delivery times

The Easter bunny has been known to get so busy delivering eggs that sometimes they don’t arrive until after lunch. We find that egss arriving after lunch are much more enjoyable than the breakfast eggs :)

He appreciates the odd carrot left on the patio.

Non arrival of the Easter Bunny

If you are a teenager or adult the Easter Bunny will no longer deliver to you. He loves seeing the little ones get their chocolate treat but he thinks once you are a teen (or older) you can get your own eggs.

It may be because last year you forgot to leave the carrot on the patio or you don’t mow the grass properly. You can find out the exact reasons from the Head Bunny, he’ll ping you an email.

Happy Easter from all of us at Arrow Light Haulage & Courier Services.

Good news on the horizon for Hauliers

And motorists it would seem.

Prime Minister David Cameron today gives his strongest hint yet that his government will ease the burden on hard-pressed motorists and hauliers.

Less than a week before Chancellor George Osborne delivers his Budget, Mr Cameron made it clear to the Press and Journal that help is on its way. He said he understands how drivers’ wallets “are being hit hard” because of soaring world prices. He added: “The Budget is coming up next week, and we are considering the options, including a fair fuel stabiliser which could support motorists when oil prices are high.”

Looking for Haulage? Then you are looking to sell to me

Shocking that I know this…

A friend of mine pointed me in the direction of someone looking to speak to a senior contact in a UK Haulage company. I had half an idea what was coming; you see they used the term “haulage“.

When someone wants something moved  what they search for is different

  • Moving a sofa
  • Moving some pallets
  • Move some cargo
  • Moving freight

When they are looking to sell something to our business they look for the generic terms – Haulage /Courier Company.

When a customer searches they tend to search for a courier + location or the item they need delivering and a location. If someone is requiring an 18 tonne lorry that can hold 20 pallets, they don’t tend to shop around for “Haulage” on Google and that is why many of us transport companies don’t optimise for the phrase.

Over the last month looking at my analytics every general search phrase has resulted in a sales enquiry. Not for me,but for someone wanting to supply my business.

Those in the industry search different terms and we optimise for those. We optimise for customers who know what they are looking for, the ones that don’t find this blog and get a better idea of what they are looking for.

So in future SEO types and Social Media Marketers please note, just because a phrase has a lot of search terms it doesn’t mean they are from potential customers. The phrases you think are essential are not the ones our ideal customers use. A quick bit of research and a chat with a few hauliers (<—- did you see that? That’s what we are called, hauliers ‘cos we haul stuff around) and you will find out what we really need to be found for and why.

So if you find this as you are looking to tell me I am not found for the search term “haulage” perhaps you need to spend a few minutes working out why. And if you are thinking of ringing me up to tell me that I am not found for that term, you perhaps look at the term you found me for :)

PS if you want to chat you can find me on Twitter, where I talk about delivering and hauling stuff to interested parties I am @SarahArrow.

PPS if you are a potential customer that is looking for Haulage Services please check out our main website or pick up the phone and tell me I am wrong and you found us :)

The rising fuel costs – Radio Essex interview

Just a quick note to let you know that this morning at 9.10am I will be chatting on Radio Essex about the rising fuel costs.

As a courier company, fuel is our biggest expenditure. When the fuel goes up the cost of deliveries go up the price of food in the shops, the cost of clothes leaving much less to spend – not helping the recovery.

You can tune in 103.5FM, 95.3FM & DAB

And if you subscribe to our blog you will get updates of greener driving and fuel saving tips. Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing more fuel saving tips.

Listen out and let me know what you think about the rising cost of fuel and if it impacts your business and what you are planning to do about it.
